Pediatric Surgery
Paediatric surgery spans neonatal to adolescent care with multiple specialised pathways. The session covers foetal surgery (MOMS for myelomeningocele, TOTAL for CDH), neonatal anomalies (gastroschisis, omphalocele, esophageal atresia), paediatric oncology surgery (Wilms tumour, neuroblastoma), adolescent bariatric surgery (Teen-LABS long-term, MOSAIC, AAP 2024 guideline), ERAS in children, and paediatric minimally invasive surgery. Discussion addresses Hirschsprung disease and biliary atresia, pyloric stenosis, intussusception, paediatric robotic surgery, US/EU/Asian paediatric surgical centre models, and the workforce-development pipeline for paediatric surgery globally.
